Shingeki no Kyojin : Shattered Wall

Description

My entry for the contest by :iconoperation-requiem:  =)

I picked despair for my theme, and the title I gave it was "Shattered Wall", which refers to both the wall keeping out the titans as well as the metaphorical wall of Mikasa's resolve, reasons to keep fighting, and her hopes, upon seeing the dead, torn body of Eren.

I have her as the only one there to try and depict the horror of being the last one standing, having lost everyone around you and now faced by a threat that looks impossible to defeat. Would she just give up, now that Eren is dead, or run away, or face them anyway knowing the inevitable outcome (I sound like Mr. Smith, but anyways) for vengeance.
So yeah, this piece is meant to portray both the despair of loss and choice.

And as always all input on how to improve this piece would be most welocme =D

This is amazing!!
I love the contrast in complimentary colours you have in this piece, the composition is good, and the rougher brush strokes compliment the theme of despair as well as giving off a rugged feeling to the drawing.
The perspective is great, with the foreground being Eren's destroyed titan form. Many art pieces I've seen has a lack of foreground, or wrong use of the foreground. Your use of foreground is not jarring and actually leads the eye around the piece very well.

I can feel for Mikasa as she is not a character of many emotions and the fact that you drew her crying actually reflects that she realises she has lost everything she cared for, and is conflicted with the choice of whether she should live or die.

The only thing I would gripe about (which is barely any) is just the fact that almost every SNK drawing involves blood/destruction in one way or another, so that would not be something new. What sets your drawing aside however, would be your technique.

I wish you luck in getting into the Requiem artbook, and look forward to more work from you.
